Xenon - Spore Insect Investigation

Xenon looks away from the Acid Insect and toward a nearby Spore Insect. As they watch it, the corners of their mouth slowly curl upward.

"At first, I thought it was merely a relative of the Acid Insect."

When Xenon prods the Spore Insect with a stick, it releases a cloud of spores.

"Creatures covered in those spores are wounded far more easily than usual. Yet it is neither poison nor acid."

Xenon frantically scribbles several lines in their notebook.

"The same kind of insect, yet it hunts in a completely different way... Beautiful."

After a moment, they tear out a note and hand it to you.

"Observe a few Spore Insects as they burst. I want to know exactly what those spores are."

As you take the note, Xenon nods in satisfaction.

"Ah, and don't forget: Spore Insects only inhabit deep within the forest."

They look back at the Spore Insect and mutter under their breath.

"How can such tiny spores make creatures so weak..."

As though they have already forgotten you are there, Xenon becomes absorbed in observation once more.
