The Watching Presence

All of a sudden, you realize that something is watching you.
After finding nothing around you, you slowly lift your head and look toward the sky.

Above, the clouds gather into a strange and meaningful shape.
It seems almost alive, wearing a peculiar smile as though it possesses intent.

"Is this world filled with suffering... or pleasure?"

Overwhelmed by its presence, you find yourself unable to move.

"Or perhaps... greed?"

Instinctively, you choose your answer.

At your answer, the thing writhes violently before roaring in fury.

"Then suffering shall be your companion!"

In an instant, unbearable agony crashes over you and the expedition members, as though both body and soul are being torn apart.
By the time you regain your senses, it has already vanished.

At your answer, the thing cries out in delight.

"Ahhh... then you shall be filled with pleasure!"

At once, you and the expedition members are swept away by a wave of overwhelming ecstasy.

At your answer, the thing claps with delight and cries out.

"Hahaha! Though greed itself knows no end!"

Coins begin raining from the sky, and you and the expedition members scramble frantically to gather them.
