Summoned Creatures

Water Magic units can summon creatures (Bubblelings and Bubbletoads), and a summon's power scales off the summoner's Magic Attack Power rather than being a fixed statline.

The formulas are:

  • Summon Max HP = (summoner's Magic Attack Power x 1.0) + the summon's base HP
  • Summon's own Magic Attack Power = (summoner's Magic Attack Power x 0.5) + the summon's base Magic Attack Power

So a summon inherits the summoner's full Magic Attack Power into its health pool and half of it into its own attack. Base values differ by creature:

  • Bubbleling - base HP 0, base Magic Attack 0. A pure summoner-derived unit: a mage with 80 Magic Attack Power spawns an 80 HP / 40 Magic Attack Bubbleling.
  • Bubbletoad - base HP 300, base Magic Attack 16.9. The same 80-Magic-Attack mage spawns a 380 HP / 56.9 Magic Attack Bubbletoad (not a flat 300 HP).

Two extra rules matter in play: a summon's abilities read the summoner's live Magic Attack Power at cast time (so buffing the summoner strengthens the summon's spells, independent of the summon's own halved attack), and a summon spawns mirroring the summoner's current health/energy ratios - summon a creature while wounded and it arrives wounded. Summons are also leashed to about 5 tiles from their summoner.
